Gold & Silver Rates Today (27 April 2026) Live: MCX Gold Nears Rs 1.53 Lakh, Silver Price Above Rs 2.45 Lakh

Gold rates and silver rates in India will be in focus after the peace talks between US and Iran failed for the second time. In the early trade, MCX gold traded near Rs 1.53 lakh mark with mild gains. Similarly, MCX silver surged marginally to hold above Rs 2.45 lakh. US President Donald Trump cancelled a scheduled trip to Pakistan, where their top envoys would meet Iranian negotiators. Meanwhile, Tehran has reiterated that they will not enter into any negotiations as long as the US Navy blockade continues at Strait of Hormuz. Also, Iran did offer to open Hormuz but does not have any intention to give up their nuclear weapon dream which is one of the top demands of USA.

Hence, the situation at Middle East remains fragile, uncertain and nerve-wrecking. In the early hours of Monday, crude oil prices surged by more than 1% with Brent Crude trading above $106 per barrel and US WTI Crude rising above $95 per barrel. On the other hand, spot gold and spot silver trended cautiously but with mild gains.

Spot gold is marginally up and traded above $4,710 per ounce and spot silver rose by 0.5% to hold around $76 per ounce. The gains are limited due to the sharp surge in US Dollar which is as high as 99.3.

Oil prices rallied again as the Middle East conflict entered its ninth week and the Strait of Hormuz remained effectively shut, fueling inflation concerns and increasing expectations that central banks may keep interest rates higher for longer or even tighten further. The Federal Reserve is widely expected to hold its policy rate steady on Wednesday, a meeting that could mark Jerome Powell's final session as chair before Kevin Warsh is anticipated to take over in May. Investors are also positioning ahead of key policy decisions from the ECB, Bank of England, and Bank of Japan later this week, as per Trading Economics.
