Gold Rates & Silver Rates Today (31/07/2026) LIVE: MCX Gold & Silver Price Falls On Last Trading Day Of July

Gold rates and silver rates in India traded volatile at MCX during the last trading day of July month. On Friday, MCX gold price slipped and hovered around Rs 1,42,600 per 10 grams mark, while the MCX silver price stood around Rs 2,19,200 per 1Kg. This is due to weak trend in global bullion market. Spot gold and spot silver are down by 1% each and struggling around $4,075 per ounce and $58.4 per ounce respectively.

Precious metals slipped despite bearish trend in crude oil prices. US WTI Crude Oil dropped nearly 3% to trade below $81.50 per barrel and BRENT Crude is down 2.30% to trade below $85 per barrel. Gasoline futures are down 2%. On the contrary, copper and natural gas futures in global market traded higher by 1% each.

Despite the latest trend, safe haven assets have found support this week after US Federal Reserve kept key fund rates unchanged amidst inflation pressures and energy crisis stemming from West Asia conflict.

However, expectations for tighter monetary policy continued to cap gains, with markets currently pricing in about a 63% chance of a Fed rate hike in September. Meanwhile, the US military launched fresh strikes on Iranian targets in retaliation for Tehran's attacks on US assets across the Middle East, reducing the likelihood of any near-term diplomatic agreement. Gold has come under constant pressure since the US-Iran war erupted in late February, as surging oil prices fueled inflation concerns and strengthened expectations for tighter monetary policy, as per Trading Economics.
