Gold & Silver Rates Today Live: 10 Grams Gold Above Rs 1.51 Lakh, Physical Silver Price Gains By Rs 5,000

Gold rates and silver rates in India witnessed a volatile start on Wednesday, April 1st. MCX gold price gained to trade near Rs 1.50 lakh mark, but silver prices fell by at least 1% to trade below Rs 2.40 lakh level. The performance is tracking international prices as spot gold surged above $4,700 per ounce but spot silver plunged by 1.5% to 2%.

The bullion gained amidst the possibility of de-escalation in the Middle East conflict between US, Israel and Iran. However, the upside is restraint due to a surge in crude oil prices by 1% to 2% that has kept inflation fear intact. Also, a firm US dollar along with upside in bond yields has weighed on non-yielding assets like gold and silver.

President Donald Trump told aides he is willing to end the war against Iran even if the Strait of Hormuz remains largely closed, while regional reports suggested Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian may consider ending the conflict under certain conditions. Still, gains in bullion remained limited as easing geopolitical risks reduced safe-haven demand, while a firm US dollar and elevated Treasury yields continued to weigh on non-yielding assets, as per Trading Economics.

Concerns of rate hike from Federal Reserves remains.
