Gold Rates Today (19-08-2026) Falls Up To Rs 8,500; 24K, 22K, 18K Gold Prices At IBJA, Tanishq, Malabar, More

Gold rates in India plunged on August 19 due to weak global cues. The physical gold rate in 24 carat declined sharply up to Rs 10,000 in 100 grams and Rs 1,000 in 10 grams across major cities in the country. At Tanishq, the 22 carat gold rate crashed up to Rs 8,500 per 100 grams and down by Rs 850 in 10 grams. A nearly 1% decline has been seen at top jewelers on Wednesday. The reason why gold is getting cheaper is due to rising treasury yields and elevated crude oil prices, which keep inflationary pressures on the loop and fear of rate hikes ahead.

"The continued uncertainty around the Strait of Hormuz, with both sides maintaining control claims, is keeping geopolitical risk elevated," said Jateen Trivedi, VP Research Analyst - Commodity and Currency, LKP Securities.

Furthermore, investors are now awaiting the minutes of the Federal Reserve's July meeting which is scheduled on Wednesday for fresh clarity about inflation and the future path of central banks' interest rates

Tanishq Gold Rates Today

On August 19, 22 carat gold price dropped by Rs 8,500 in 100 grams, plunged by Rs 850 in 10 grams, down Rs 680 in 8 grams and is lower by Rs 85 in 1 gram. In percentage terms, the decline is about 0.6% across the grams at Tanishq stores.

Accordingly, the 22 carat gold price stood at Rs 14,250 per 1 gram, at Rs 114,000 per 8 grams, at Rs 142,500 per 10 grams and at Rs 1,425,000 per 100 grams.

Furthermore, 18 carat gold price stood at Rs 11,659 per 1 gram and at Rs 116,590 per 10 grams. In case of 24 carat, 10 grams and 1 gram gold prices stood at Rs 155,450 and Rs 15,540 respectively.
