MCX Gold Price + MCX Silver Price + Spot Gold Price + Spot Silver Price
Physical gold rates are unchanged despite decline in bullion prices at MCX and international market. At the time of writing, MCX gold price traded at Rs 1,46,020 per 10 grams, down by nearly Rs 500, while MCX silver price crashed by nearly Rs 2,400 to trade around Rs 2,09,098 per 1Kg. MCX gold and MCX silver has touched an intraday low of Rs 1,45,689 and Rs 2,08,801 respectively.
Meanwhile, Spot gold price plunged marginally to trade below $4,117 per ounce and spot silver dropped over 1.2% to trade around $57.25 per ounce. With that, the international precious metals have marked their fourth consecutive decline.
"Gold and silver futures are showing different trends in early market indications on October 21. Gold remains under pressure, while silver is attempting a modest recovery. Investors are weighing inflation concerns and the outlook for US interest rates, both of which could influence bullion prices in the coming sessions," said Vikram Subburaj, CEO, Giottus.com.
Oil resumed its upward trend after a diplomat dismissed reports that a deal to end the US-Iran conflict was imminent, although negotiations remain underway. Rising tensions in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, along with increased attacks on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, further heightened concerns over supply disruptions. Meanwhile, the US Federal Reserve is widely expected to leave interest rates unchanged next week, though markets anticipate a possible rate hike in December. The Bank of Japan and the European Central Bank are also expected to maintain their policy rates next week. Although gold is traditionally considered a hedge against inflation, higher interest rates tend to weaken its appeal compared with interest-bearing assets, as per Trading Economics.
Gold Rates & Silver Rates Outlook
"Inflation risks, the US dollar and Treasury yields remain important drivers. Expectations around the Federal Reserve's next policy moves could keep volatility elevated," said Subburaj.
To domestic traders, the expert said, gold needs to regain Rs 1,47,000 to signal near-term stabilisation. Support around Rs 1,45,000 remains important. Silver has support near Rs 2,08,000, while a sustained move above Rs 2,13,000 would strengthen its recovery prospects.
Accordingly, he added that investors should avoid reading a single session's move as a confirmed trend. Track the MCX opening, the rupee, the dollar and US yields before taking fresh positions. In this environment, disciplined position sizing matters more than chasing short-term price swings.
