Good Friday is a public holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act, hence public and private sector banks will be closed on Friday. This closure affects physical banking services such as cash deposits, withdrawals, and branch consultations.

However, digital banking platforms-including UPI, net banking, ATMs, and mobile banking apps-will continue to function normally, enabling customers to carry out essential transactions without disruption.

The holiday on April 18 will be observed across the country, including in Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, West Bengal, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Goa, Nagaland, Mizoram, and other areas with significant Christian communities.
