Railway Employees Association Demand Hike In Wage Ceiling:
The current calculation of PLB is based on the wage ceiling of Rs 7,000 of 78-days. However, the Indian Railways Technical Supervisors' Association (IRTSA) had been demanding for a hike in wage ceiling to Rs 18,000 plus dearness allowance for Level-2 railway employees and above. Also, they sought out for increase in wage ceiling to Rs 21,000 for unskilled workers.
If the wage ceiling was hiked to Rs 18,000, the IRTSA argued that the annual bonus would rise to at least Rs 46,184 per railway employee.
