Google’s 2025 Ads Safety Report says Gemini AI improved real-time detection of malicious advertising, helping remove 483.7 million policy-violating ads and suspend 1.7 million advertiser accounts in India. Globally, Google blocked or removed more than 8.3 billion bad ads and suspended 24.9 million advertiser accounts, stopping over 99 per cent before users saw them.
Google said it blocked or removed 483.7 million ads in India during 2025. The company also suspended 1.7 million advertiser accounts in the country. Google linked the progress to its Gemini AI models. It said the tools helped spot policy violations faster and stop scams as they appeared.

In its 2025 Ads Safety Report released on Thursday, Google shared global figures too. The company said it blocked or removed more than 8.3 billion bad ads last year. It also said it suspended 24.9 million advertiser accounts worldwide. Google added that over 99 per cent of removed ads were stopped before users saw them.
Gemini AI models in Google ads safety
Google said Gemini improved real-time detection as scammers used generative AI at scale. It said the models helped identify deceptive ads even when creators tried to hide signals. The company described this as a shift from older keyword checks. It said the newer systems read intent better and act earlier.
"Our safety teams work around the clock to stop bad actors that use increasingly sophisticated, malicious ads,\" Keerat Sharma, VP & General Manager, Ads Privacy and Safety at Google, said in a blog post. \"Our models analyse hundreds of billions of signals - including account age, behavioural cues and campaign patterns - to stop threats before they reach people.\"
\"Unlike earlier keyword-based systems, our latest models better understand intent, helping us spot malicious content and preemptively block it, even when its designed to evade detection,\" Sharma said. Google said this approach helped catch threats as they formed. It also said the models reduced the chance of scams reaching users.
India policy violations in Google ads safety
Google listed the main reasons ads were taken down in India during 2025. The top five violations related to trademarks and financial services. The list also included copyright, personalisation violations, and abusing the ad network. Google did not provide a breakdown for each category in the report.
Google also said Gemini improved how it handled user complaints about ads. It said the system processed reports more efficiently during 2025. As a result, Google said it took action on four times as many user reports as in the previous year. The company did not share the total number of reports.
