Government Set To Reduce Prices Of Some Essential Drugs

The union government has decided to provide relief to the Indian patients and reduced prices of about 39 drugs including anti-cancer drugs, anti-diabetes, antiviral, antibacterial drugs, antiretroviral drugs, anti-TB drugs, and drugs used in Covid treatment. Additionally, Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Health and Family Welfare has launched the revised National List of Essential Medicines (NLEM) at an event by the Indian Council of Medical Analysis (ICMR), which is quite significant step for the Indian healthcare segment.

Teneligliptin, an anti-diabetes drug, common anti TB drugs like Bedaquiline and Delamanid, Ivermectin utilized in Covid therapy, and Rotavirus vaccine have been taken into price control, amongst others.
