A common perspective is that ageing is a stage of life where one is expected to 'settle'. This is what Vibha Singal, Founder and CEO of Sukoon Unlimited hopes to change. Sukoon Unlimited is the first age-tech platform in India created for senior citizens with the mission to empower seniors, deal with their loneliness, and provide them with a strong sense of purpose and belonging. In this candid conversation, Vibha elaborates on what motivates her for Sukoon Unlimited, the challenges of bridging the digital divide for older adults, and how she transitioned from the corporate world to launching a movement with a mission. Join us in our attempt to understand her journey, her vision for Sukoon Unlimited, and the future of the elderly in India.

1. What inspired you to start Sukoon Unlimited, and how has your personal journey shaped the vision behind it?
Sukoon Unlimited was born from a simple but powerful realization-aging should be about living, not just existing.
I've met so many seniors who have spent their entire lives taking care of others-raising children, building careers, supporting families-only to find themselves feeling forgotten when they finally have time for themselves. The world moves on, their children get busy, their circles shrink, and suddenly, they wonder, What now?
But aging isn't about slowing down. It's about rediscovering yourself, finding new joys, and connecting with people who truly understand you. That's what Sukoon Unlimited is about-a space where seniors don't just pass time, but create meaningful moments.
Today, we have a thriving community of over 3000 seniors across India. And every day, I hear stories that remind me why we started-stories of friendships rekindled, of passions rediscovered, of people who thought they were alone finding a second family. That's what keeps me going.
2. Senior loneliness is a growing concern. How does Sukoon Unlimited address this issue beyond traditional elder care solutions?
Traditional elder care often focuses on the physical needs of seniors, which is crucial, of course. But Sukoon Unlimited goes beyond that. Sukoon Unlimited is India's first senior-led age-tech platform, built to redefine aging by fostering connection, purpose, and engagement. We recognize that loneliness and social isolation are just as detrimental to health as any physical ailment. We're building a community, a support system where seniors can find connection and belonging. It's not just about providing services; it's about fostering relationships.
We do this in several ways. Our "Sukoon Sarathi" program pairs seniors with mentors and companions, creating meaningful one-on-one connections. We also have support groups and counseling led by senior counselors who truly understand the unique challenges of aging. And, importantly, we encourage seniors to be active participants in the community. They lead events, share their skills, and support each other. This gives them a sense of purpose and empowers them to stay engaged. It's about creating a space where seniors feel valued, heard, and understood. We want to remind them that they are still an integral part of our society and that their contributions are still valuable.
3. What have been some of the biggest challenges in building India's first senior-led age-tech platform, and how did you overcome them?
One of the biggest hurdles has been bridging the digital divide. Many seniors aren't as comfortable with technology, making accessibility a key challenge. Our solution? We offer multiple ways to connect-WhatsApp, a website, a mobile app, and even a dedicated call center. We also provide personalized tech support, ensuring that no senior feels left behind due to technology.
Another challenge was changing societal perceptions of aging. Aging is often seen as a decline, but we are working hard to rewrite that narrative. By showcasing the incredible skills, wisdom, and passion of seniors, we are proving that life after retirement is not the end of something-it's the beginning of something new.
And, of course, building trust was essential. Seniors are often skeptical of new platforms, so we ensured that Sukoon Unlimited remained a safe, genuine, and senior-driven space. It's not just a platform; it's a movement.
4. As an entrepreneur who transitioned from a corporate career, what advice would you give to others looking to take the leap into purpose-driven startups?
Taking the leap into a purpose-driven startup is not for the faint-hearted, but it is one of the most fulfilling decisions you can make. My advice? Start with passion, but build with persistence. Passion gives you the spark, but persistence will keep the fire burning through the challenges.
Secondly, be prepared to wear multiple hats. In the corporate world, you have specialized roles, but in a startup, you'll be everything-from strategist to problem-solver to customer support.
Most importantly, surround yourself with a team that believes in the mission as much as you do. You can't do it alone, and the right people will elevate your vision.
And finally-just start. There will never be a 'perfect time,' but the impact you create will make every struggle worth it.
5. What's your vision for the future of Sukoon Unlimited, and how do you see it transforming senior care in India?
My vision for Sukoon Unlimited is to make it a global platform where seniors everywhere can find community, purpose, and belonging. I want to change the way the world views aging - to move away from the idea of decline and towards a celebration of experience and wisdom. We're building a movement, not just a platform. We want to empower seniors to live fulfilling lives, to stay connected, and to continue to contribute to society.
In India, we see Sukoon Unlimited as a catalyst for change in senior care. We want to create a more holistic approach that addresses not just the physical needs of seniors, but also their emotional and social needs. We believe that technology can play a crucial role in connecting seniors and providing them with the support they need to thrive. But at the heart of it all is human connection. We want to create a world where seniors feel valued, respected, and loved. That's the future we're working towards.
