For the month of May, the country's GST collection came in at Rs. 1,02,709 Crore, said the Union Finance Ministry today.

A twitter post on the official twitter handle of the ministry of finance, the tweet read "Gross GST revenue collected in the month of May 2021 is Rs 1,02,709 crore".
Additionally, the statement by the Finance Ministry gave the break up specifying Rs 17,592 crore has been collected by way of CGST, Rs 22,653 crore by way of SGST and Rs 53,199 crore on account of IGST (including Rs 26,002 crore collected on import of goods) and Cess is Rs. 9,265 crore (including ₹868 crore collected on import of goods).
"The above figure includes GST collection from domestic transactions till 4th of June since taxpayers were given various relief measures in the form of waiver/reduction in interest on delayed return filing for 15 days for the return filing month May'21 in the wake of Covid pandemic second wave," the government further said.
"During this month, the government has settled Rs 15,014 crore to CGST and Rs 11,653 crore to SGST from IGST as regular settlement," the statement added.
The GST collection during the May month of the ongoing year has been 65% more than the collection made in the same month last year. It is for the eighth consecutive month when GST revenue collection has crossed Rs. 1 trillion mark again.
