Groww Shares Tumble 3% After Rs 2,500 Crore Block Deal; 12.75 Crore Shares Change Hands; Check Details
Shares of Billionbrains Garage Ventures, the parent company of fintech platform Groww, fell over 3% in Wednesday's trade after a large block deal hit the counter. The stock dropped to Rs. 196.54, with around 12.75 crore shares, roughly 2.1% of the company's equity, changing hands in a transaction worth approximately Rs. 2500 crore.

The trading volume surged sharply during the morning session, with 15.56 crore shares traded on the NSE against a three-month average of 3.25 crore shares, while BSE volumes touched 58.89 lakh shares versus an average of 41 lakh.
However as per CNBC TV reports, Ribbit Capital, an early backer of Groww, was planning to offload around a 1.6% stake in the company for close to Rs. 1,914 crore at a floor price of Rs. 195 per share. Ribbit-linked entities have sold shares in the company before, having done so through bulk deals back in May 2026 as well, and are said to be subject to a 30-day lock-in following the latest transaction.
Groww Financial Performance
The stock price action comes despite a strong financial performance the company reported in this quarter. On a consolidated basis, Billionbrains Garage Ventures' net profit rose 7.1% QoQ and 94.28% YoY to Rs. 735 crore in the June quarter of FY27.
Revenue from operations was down marginally by 0.26% QoQ but climbed a sharp 66.01% YoY to Rs. 1,501 crore, indicating a sharp growth in the company's core broking and wealth management businesses.
