GST officials visited the office premises of UpGrad, a prominent online education platform. UpGrad has clarified that the visit was part of a routine survey conducted by GST officials, aimed at ensuring compliance with tax regulation, Reuters reported.
"It's a routine survey and we are fully compliant and cooperating with the department," Koell Hemdev, head of legal at upGrad, said in a statement, without sharing more details of the visit.

The valuation of UpGrad, which is supported by Temasek and James Murdoch's Lupa Systems, was above $2 billion in 2017. By working with domestic and foreign schools, it offers online MBA and executive education courses.
The company, founded by movie director Ronnie Screwvala, competes with firms like the Softbank-funded Eruditus and the struggling Byju's.
Arjun Mohan, the CEO of UpGrad India, departed the organisation in January and was just named president of Byju's international division.
