Discussion of Bullet Train Project

During the meeting with Governor Saito, Patel recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visits to Hyogo in 2007 and 2012, when Modi was the Gujarat CM. Patel noted that it was during those visits that Modi envisioned connecting Ahmedabad and Mumbai with a bullet train, a dream that is now becoming a reality with the ongoing construction of the high-speed rail corridor between the two cities.

Sister City Bond and Japanese Investment

Patel also mentioned the sister city bond between Ahmedabad and Kobe and expressed happiness that nearly 30 Hyogo-headquartered Japanese firms have invested in Gujarat. He invited Saito and his delegation to visit the January 10 to 12 investor summit in Gandhinagar.

Meeting with Nichicon Corporation

Later in the day, the Gujarat CM and his delegation met with key officials of Nichicon Corporation, a leading Japanese business house. During the meeting, Patel urged company representatives to take advantage of India's emerging electric vehicle (EV) market. He also invited Nichicon executives to attend the upcoming summit.

Promoting Gujarat's Mega Business Gathering

The CM and his delegation are visiting Japan and Singapore from November 26 to December 2 to promote Gujarat's mega business gathering. The summit aims to attract investment and showcase the state's strengths in various sectors.

In conclusion, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel's meeting with Hyogo Governor Motohiko Saito and his visit to Kobe Port underscore the strong relationship between Gujarat and Japan. The discussions on the bullet train project, sister city bond, Japanese investment, and India's EV market highlight the potential for further collaboration between the two regions. The upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in January provides an opportunity for continued engagement and partnerships.
