NLDS and GIDB Partnership Aims to Digitise Gujarat's Logistics Landscape
NICDC Logistics Data Services (NLDS) and Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board have signed an MoU to digitise logistics in Gujarat using the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP), according to the commerce ministry. This partnership aims to enhance logistics operations, improve coordination among state departments, and provide real-time data insights for better decision-making.

Unified Logistics Interface Platform Dashboard
A key aspect of this collaboration is the creation of the Gujarat ULIP Unified Logistics Interface Platform Dashboard by NLDS. This dashboard will operate on a hub-spoke model, integrating with various state departments to ensure a continuous flow of information. It will offer real-time visibility into logistics parameters such as shipment tracking, vehicle utilisation, infrastructure availability, and transit times.
The comprehensive tool will empower stakeholders across both government and private sectors to monitor and manage logistics operations efficiently throughout the state. This initiative highlights NLDS's commitment to leveraging technological advancements and innovation to drive progress in the logistics sector.
Private Sector Participation
Private sector involvement in ULIP has significantly amplified its impact. Over 950 companies are registered on the ULIP portal, having developed more than 90 applications. These applications have facilitated over 42 crore API transactions. This participation underscores the platform's effectiveness in enhancing logistics operations.
Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Rajesh Kumar Singh, stated that this collaboration marks a significant milestone in the central government's digital transformation efforts under PM Gati Shakti. "This collaboration is a major milestone in the central government's commitment to digital transformation under PM Gati Shakti," he said.
ULIP serves as a digital gateway, allowing industry players to access logistics-related datasets from various government systems through API-based integration. Currently, it integrates with 37 systems from 10 ministries via 118 APIs, covering over 1,800 data fields.
Government Decision-Making
Beyond private sector benefits, ULIP enhances government decision-making by delivering synthesised data to different ministries and departments like Coal and Food Corporation of India (FCI). This data helps streamline operations and improve efficiency across various sectors.
The association between NLDS and Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board signifies a step forward in digitising India's logistics landscape. By providing real-time data insights and fostering greater coordination among state departments, this initiative aims to transform logistics operations in Gujarat.
