Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini emphasises Haryana's goal to modernise animal husbandry, focusing on profitability and sustainability through innovation and education for livestock farmers.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini attended the 41st state-level livestock exhibition, emphasising the state's aim to modernise and make animal husbandry profitable and sustainable. The event aimed to equip livestock farmers with up-to-date knowledge on animal rearing, ensuring quality and fostering innovation. Saini highlighted the importance of information on modern feed, vaccination, disease control, breeding techniques, and digital services for empowering farmers.

During the event's final day, Saini addressed attendees, noting India's progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership towards Atmanirbhar Bharat. He stressed the growing significance of animal husbandry in this context, citing opportunities in milk production, value addition, exports, and start-ups. The state is enhancing animal health services in villages, promoting advanced breeding, and improving milk collection and marketing systems.
Focus on Natural Farming and Training
The government launched the Natural Farming Scheme in 2022 to encourage sustainable practices. Farmers can register on a dedicated portal for natural farming. By 2025-26, the state aims to implement natural farming across one lakh acres. Training and credit facilities are being expanded to boost livestock farmers' income, reduce risks, and ensure market access.
At the exhibition, Saini inspected various animal breeds and interacted with farmers. He also enjoyed a camel ride and fed jaggery to cows. The event showcased good animal breeds, reflecting India's evolving image in the dairy sector. Minister Shyam Singh Rana, MP Naveen Jindal, and former Minister Subhash Sudha were present at the event.
Animal Health Camps and Economic Impact
MP Naveen Jindal announced upcoming animal health camps for farmers and livestock rearers with company support. These camps will use diagnostic kits to test animal diseases. Jindal emphasised that livestock rearers are crucial to the agricultural economy as rural communities rely on animal husbandry for village development.
The state's efforts are setting new benchmarks in dairy progress. The livestock fair symbolises India's new image in this sector. The government's priority remains increasing livestock farmers' income while reducing risks and ensuring direct market access.
The Haryana government's initiatives aim to transform animal husbandry into a modern and profitable sector. By focusing on health services, breed improvement, training, and natural farming, they seek to empower farmers and enhance economic growth in rural areas.
