Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has sanctioned a project valued at Rs 36 crore to set up rooftop solar power systems on 290 government buildings in Haryana. This initiative is part of the state's efforts to promote renewable energy. The decision was made during a meeting of the High-Powered Purchase Committee, which Saini chaired.

Haryana CM Approves Rs 36 Crore Solar Project

During the meeting, contracts and purchases amounting to Rs 804 crore were approved. Ministers Vipul Goel, Ranbir Gangwa, and Shruti Choudhry were present. An official statement highlighted these developments. The Chief Minister emphasized the swift implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in the state.

Solar Power and Waste Management Initiatives

The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana aims to make electricity more affordable by installing solar panels up to 2 kW on rooftops. Consumers can use the generated electricity as needed, with any surplus being sold back to the grid. "The central government is providing a subsidy of Rs 60,000, while Haryana offers Rs 50,000," said Saini, urging people to benefit from this scheme.

In addition to solar initiatives, an agency was selected for the complete disposal of legacy waste at Gurugram's Bandhwari landfill site. The Chief Minister instructed that this waste be fully cleared within four months. Failure to meet this deadline will result in penalties for the responsible agency.

Infrastructure and Cleanliness Efforts

Saini stressed that cleanliness must be maintained across all urban and rural areas in Haryana. He insisted that no garbage piles should be visible anywhere. To support this, approval was granted for purchasing super sucker machines worth nearly Rs 13 crore to ensure effective sewer cleaning.

The Chief Minister also emphasized that there should be no compromise on quality in infrastructure projects. He directed officials to focus on maintaining high standards in every task undertaken.

Focus on Education and Sports Infrastructure

During the meeting, Saini instructed officers to gather demands for various sports from all schools. He emphasized that infrastructure should be developed in schools based on these requirements. This approach aims to enhance sports facilities and encourage student participation in physical activities.

The meeting underscored Haryana's commitment to sustainable development and infrastructure improvement. By focusing on renewable energy, waste management, and education infrastructure, the state aims to foster a cleaner and more efficient environment for its residents.
