Haryana roadworks: CM Nayab Singh Saini orders strict standards and repairs statewide

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini instructed the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board to follow prescribed standards for road construction, with no compromise on quality, and to ensure damaged roads are repaired. He reviewed plans covering rural haats, purchase centres, mandi cleanliness, pack houses, cold storage, and related marketing infrastructure projects.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday told officials to follow set standards for roads. Saini said work by the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board must not cut quality. Saini also asked staff to ensure no road in the state stays damaged. The directions came during a review meeting, an official statement said.

Haryana CM orders road quality

During the meeting, Saini checked progress on several marketing board works. The review covered budget plans for rural haats and purchase centres. It also included roads, crop gate passes, agromalls, and mandi cleanliness. Saini also looked at pack houses, cold stores, Atal Canteens, Sankalp Patra BJPs poll promises commitments, and other projects.

Saini said land for rural haats and purchase centres has been found at 12 sites. Sheds will be built at each site for about Rs 30-35 lakh. Saini said similar haat centres will also come up at block level. Self-help groups, FPOs, and farmers can sell produce and other goods there.

Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board mandi cleanliness and Atal Canteens

Saini asked officials to keep all grain markets clean across Haryana. Saini said Atal Canteens are running in 93 mandis for labourers and visitors. Work will soon start to open Atal Canteens in 10 more mandis. The canteens are meant to offer affordable and nutritious meals in market areas.

Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board cold storage, pack houses and Agromalls

Saini said cold storage units and pack houses will be set up in Karnal, Yamunanagar, and Narnaul. Saini said tenders for these projects have already been awarded. Saini also said the Agromall at Rohtak is now operational. Action is underway for Agromalls in Karnal, Panipat and Panchkula.

Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board markets and new sites

Saini said tenders for the Pinjore Apple Market will be floated soon. Saini said the Gurugram vegetable market is in a crowded urban area. It will shift to a proposed flower market on 22 acres at Kaliyawas. Saini said the Faridabad vegetable market will also move outside the city soon.

The meeting placed focus on road quality, market services, and new trading sites. Officials were asked to prevent damaged roads and keep mandis clean. The plans include 12 rural haat sites, new block-level centres, and added canteens. Projects also cover cold stores, pack houses, Agromalls, and market shifts in Gurugram and Faridabad.
