At Barwala mandi, farmers and traders raised complaints during the review. An official statement said the group accused a HAFED states apex cooperative federation employee of harassment. Rana took a serious view of the allegation. Rana directed that the employee be suspended. Rana also asked officers to strengthen basic mandi facilities.

Rana sought detailed reports on crop arrivals and procurement at Barwala. Rana directed officers to ensure quick movement of purchased produce. Rana said this should prevent farmers from facing inconvenience in the mandi. Rana also spoke about biometric verification rules for farmers during crop sale.

On biometric verification, Rana said farmers can register the names of three individuals for crop sale. Rana said any one of them can come and sell the produce in mandi. Rana also directed officers to improve mandi arrangements. Officials were told to keep processes smooth for both farmers and traders.

Haryana crop procurement inspection at Gohana grain market

Haryana Cooperation Minister Arvind Sharma visited the Gohana grain market and held a surprise inspection. Sharma checked the weighing of wheat stocks during the visit. Sharma said the government is ensuring procurement of every grain of farmers produce at the Minimum Support Price MSP. Sharma also reviewed the workflow inside the mandi.

Sharma directed officers to ensure that farmers do not face any inconvenience at any stage. Sharma listed steps from biometric gate pass issuance to procurement and lifting of the crop. Sharma asked the market committee and procurement agencies to follow clear procedures. Sharma also stressed transparency for all procurement work.

Sharma directed the market committee as well as procurement agencies, including warehousing and HAFED, to carry out the procurement process in a transparent manner and ensure that no farmer faces any difficulty. Sharma also directed the market committee secretary, HAFED manager and warehouse manager to coordinate with the contractor agency to ensure the timely lifting of wheat.

Haryana crop procurement claims and opposition criticism

Rana said schemes were helping make procurement fair and open for farmers. Rana cited Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana, Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal, Uttam portal and the e-Kharid system. Rana also named Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. Rana said these steps ensured fair prices and improved transparency.

Political claims around procurement continued earlier in the week. On Friday, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini criticised Congress and other opposition parties. Saini said they were misleading farmers over crop procurement. Saini asserted that the state government has put in place comprehensive and robust arrangements to ensure a smooth, transparent, and hassle-free procurement process across all mandis.

Congress leader and former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda alleged problems in procurement rules. Hooda accused the government of imposing arbitrary conditions on the purchase of crops. The ministers’ inspections focused on gate passes, weighing, lifting and staff conduct. Officials said directions were issued to reduce trouble and keep procurement moving.
