Saini directed officials to expand the mobile veterinary unit facility into a 24-hour service in phases. The aim is to ensure medical care for animals across the state at all times. The Chief Minister gave these directions while reviewing targets and ongoing work across agriculture-linked departments. The meeting focused on planned reforms and future strategies.

Vision 2047 roadmap meeting and veterinary healthcare services

An official statement said Saini chaired a high-level review meeting on a five-year Implementation Roadmap and Action Plan. The roadmap covered Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Departments. Presentations outlined targets, institutional reforms and planned strategies. The framework was placed under the state’s Vision 2047 plan. It aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat.

Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry Department, Vijay Singh Dahiya said a long-term strategy has been prepared. The plan aims to improve livestock productivity and strengthen disease control. It also seeks to modernise veterinary healthcare through phased expansion and digital integration. The roadmap includes stronger veterinary laboratories and upgraded diagnostic systems. It also plans integrated epidemiology for surveillance and real-time monitoring.

Agriculture & Farmers Welfare targets for soil health and natural farming

The Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Department shared a roadmap on crop diversification and soil health management. The plan also covered natural farming, climate resilience and better residue management. Additional Chief Secretary Vijayendra Kumar said the department targets reclaiming about 1.40 lakh acres of waterlogged and saline land in 2026-27. Haryana also aims to reclaim 100 per cent of such land by 2031.

To support soil health, the department plans to issue soil health cards to 15 lakh farmers each year. The roadmap also proposes 1.5 lakh acres under natural and organic farming clusters. Haryana aims to bring 3 lakh acres under water-saving methods like Direct Seeded Rice. The goal is to conserve groundwater and support climate-resilient farming.

The state plans to distribute 15,000 Crop Residue Management machines every year among farmers. The objective is to achieve zero stubble burning in Haryana. Saini directed the department to run a Jagruk Yatra for farmer awareness. The yatra is meant to promote organic farming and lower pesticide use. It also pushes DSR, diversification, and ending stubble burning.

Digital outreach and Horticulture and Fisheries plans

Saini asked officials to widen awareness through documentaries, WhatsApp campaigns and other digital platforms. Saini also directed that separate Facebook pages and YouTube channels be created for every department. The aim is to regularly highlight departmental activities. It is also meant to keep farmers and citizens informed about government initiatives.

The Horticulture Department presented a plan to expand horticulture cultivation across Haryana. The strategy included promoting high-value crops and raising farmers’ income. It focused on diversification and modern cultivation methods. The Fisheries Department presented its plan to raise aquaculture output. It also outlined steps to expand fisheries infrastructure in the state.

The meeting reviewed department-wise targets, current initiatives, and the next steps under Vision 2047. Saini stressed quick animal healthcare access through mobile veterinary units and planned round-the-clock coverage. Departments also outlined goals on land reclamation, soil health, natural farming, water-saving cultivation and residue control. Further strategies covered horticulture growth, fisheries expansion, and stronger animal disease surveillance.
