Solar energy desk in Haryana SDO offices ordered, with missed-call service for solar guidance
Haryana Energy Minister Anil Vij has instructed the Power Department to create dedicated solar energy desks at SDO offices statewide. The desks will provide clear guidance on solar power installation, government schemes, subsidies, and benefits through displays and materials. A missed-call information service is also planned to help consumers access solar energy details.
Haryana Energy Minister Anil Vij directed the power department to open a dedicated solar energy desk at every SDO office. The plan is meant to give citizens one place for guidance and services. Officials were also asked to build a missed-call information system. It will share complete details on installing solar power systems.

The directions were issued during a review meeting of the New and Renewable Energy Department on Monday. Energy Department Commissioner and Secretary Ashima Brar also attended the meeting. An official statement said Vij focused on easier access to solar options. Vij said the steps should reduce confusion for consumers.
Solar energy desk at SDO offices in Haryana
Vij instructed officers to set up solar windows that display clear information at SDO offices. These counters should show installation steps, government schemes, subsidies, and expected benefits. Awareness material and banners should be placed prominently for public use. Vij said consumers should not face any confusion or inconvenience while choosing solar energy.
As per the official statement, Vij said the priority is to make Haryana the number one state in the country in solar energy. Officials were told to run awareness campaigns in every village and city. Vij also asked departments to honour employees and officers who promote solar energy well. The aim is to encourage more people to adopt solar systems.
Solar energy progress under PM-KUSUM Scheme in Haryana
The meeting reviewed the PM-KUSUM Scheme and its progress in Haryana. Officials told Vij that 1,92,725 solar pumps have been installed so far. This places Haryana second in the country in this category. A new target was also shared for 2026-27. Haryana aims to add 35,000 new solar pumps then.
Solar energy systems planned for government buildings in Haryana
Officials said tenders would soon be invited to install solar power systems on all government buildings. Vij directed that the first phase should cover key offices and public sites. Priority locations include Deputy Commissioners offices and Sub-Divisional Officer Civil offices. Divisional Commissioner offices, Mini Secretariats, court complexes, government schools, and Energy Department offices were also listed.
Solar energy support and electricity helpline 1912 in Haryana
Vij also checked the working of the electricity complaint helpline number 1912. Vij issued strict directions that every incoming call must be attended to. Complainants should get immediate and effective responses. Vij said the 1912 service should be more robust and technologically advanced. The goal is faster resolution of electricity-related complaints.
Detailed talks during the meeting also covered solar street lights and the chief ministers announcements linked to solar energy. Officers discussed biomass and compressed biomass as other green energy options. Other alternatives were also reviewed as part of the wider clean energy push. The department noted these topics while assessing ongoing work across Haryana.
