HCL Technologies To Increase Its Fresher Headcount By 15000; More Than Last Year
Even as there has been headwinds for the IT sector, HCL Technologies for the current financial year is going to increase its fresher headcount by 15000 due to robust demand as well as a strong pipeline of project.
This is an increase by 6000 in comparison to last year's headcount surge.
Further similar to other tech companies, HCL taken its onboarding and hiring process online."Hiring is based on two parameters -- growth and backfilling we must do due to attrition. In the last quarter and in the current one, the attrition has come down significantly. This quarter, it looks like single-digit attrition. So out back-fill hiring will also be less," HCL HR Head Apaprao VV told The Times of India.
The company during the first quarter of FY 21 hired 1000 freshers and the pace has been slow given the shutdown of several of its work campuses across cities in the country amid the pandemic.
Also, other IT companies are trying to maintain hiring at the same level as that of the previous year's. The company posted better than expected results for the quarter ended June with 31% jump in net profit.
