HDFC and ICICI Pension Fund's Equity Fund Top In NPS Return Chart

HDFC Pension fund and ICICI Prudential Pension Fund's equity scheme provided the highest return across 3 and 5-year term frame. The former's scheme offered returns of 11.89 and 14.51 percent, while the latter's scheme offered 11.2 percent and 13.32 percent, respectively, during the same period.

Interestingly, this is lower than the Nifty 50 TRI return of 12.91% and 14.65% clocked during the same period.

Now soon the National Pension Scheme shall see a change once the PFRDA(PFRDA) amendment bill, introduced in the parliament, is passed. Further there can be introduced a minimum guarantee pension scheme that offers assured return to NPS subscribers. Currently NPS is market linked.

Also, in addition to the current 7 fund managers including UTI Retirement Solutions, LIC Pension Fund, SBI Pension Fund, ICICI Prudential Pension Fund, HDFC Pension Fund, Kotak Pension Fund and Aditya Birla SunLife Pension Scheme, more will be onboarded. Moreover the fees shall also be increased.
