Weather updates in Other Region In Karnataka

The North Interior Karnataka weather is expected to experience thunderstorms, lightning, squally winds, and heavy rainfall at isolated locations this week ahead.Similar conditions have been forecast for South Interior Karnataka, including Bengaluru, where thunderstorms, lightning, moderate rainfall, and gusty winds are expected over the next few days.

For Bengaluru weather, officials have predicted a generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rainfall at one or two places. Sustained winds of 30-40 kmph are also likely during rain spells.

Meanwhile, rainfall data released by KSNDMC shows that several districts received significant rainfall during the 24 hours ending at 8:30 am on June 10. Dakshina Kannada recorded the highest rainfall in the state, with Mundaje in Belthangady taluk receiving 62 mm of rain. Mala in Karkala taluk of Udupi district also recorded 62 mm, while Anugre in Ankola taluk of Uttara Kannada received 57 mm.

Among districts that reported widespread rainfall, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada were the top contributors. Moderate to heavy rainfall was also recorded in parts of Bagalkote, Koppal, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Dharwad, Hassan, Davanagere, Shivamogga, and several other districts.

Weather experts say the rapid advance of the southwest monsoon is likely to improve water availability and support agricultural activities across Karnataka. However, residents in coastal and rainfall-prone districts have been advised to remain cautious as heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds could lead to localized flooding, waterlogging, traffic disruptions, and damage to weak structures.

With the monsoon now firmly established across most parts of Karnataka, rainfall activity is expected to remain active through June 13 before conditions begin to ease later next week.
