HFCL Q2 FY27 Results: Profit Jumps 448%, Revenue Rises 144%

HFCL reported revenue of Rs 2,541.79 crore for the second quarter of FY27, marking a 143.62% increase from the corresponding period last year. Revenue also rose 32.73% sequentially compared with the preceding quarter.

Profit after tax climbed 448.14% year-on-year to Rs 394.22 crore. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, net profit increased 60.49%, indicating a further improvement over the June quarter.

The company's profit before tax also registered substantial growth, rising 406.49% year-on-year and 62.46% sequentially to Rs 538.60 crore.

HFCL EBITDA Rises 224%; Operating Margin Expands

HFCL's operating performance strengthened alongside its revenue growth. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 223.55% year-on-year and 47.78% quarter-on-quarter to Rs 658 crore.

The EBITDA margin stood at 25.89%, while the profit after tax margin improved to 15.51%. The PAT margin expanded by 862 basis points compared with the year-ago quarter and by 268 basis points from the previous quarter.

The improvement in margins suggests that the company was able to translate higher revenue into a stronger increase in operating earnings. Better capacity utilisation, business mix and fixed-cost absorption can contribute to such operating leverage as revenue scales up.

For the stock, the margin expansion is an important part of the quarterly earnings story, as it indicates that growth was accompanied by a substantial improvement in profitability.

HFCL H1 FY27 Results Profitability Sees Sharp Improvement

HFCL's first-half performance also reflected a strong turnaround compared with the previous financial year. Profit before tax for the first half of FY27 increased to Rs 870.12 crore from Rs 61.64 crore in the corresponding period last year, representing growth of 1,311.62%.

Profit after tax rose to Rs 639.86 crore from Rs 42.62 crore, marking an increase of 1,401.31%. The exceptionally high growth rates partly reflect the low earnings base in the previous year. Therefore, the absolute profit figures and the company's ability to sustain its current performance will be important measures for investors.

The second-quarter PAT of Rs 394.22 crore accounted for a substantial share of the first-half total, highlighting the strength of the latest quarter.
