According to officials, the email allegedly referred to possible attacks targeting temples, railway stations, government offices and police facilities in both Delhi and Uttarakhand. It also reportedly mentioned certain political leaders, prompting security agencies to adopt enhanced preventive measures.

Although there is no confirmed intelligence regarding the exact timing or location of any planned attack, authorities have increased police deployment, intensified patrolling and instructed personnel to remain on high alert until the threat assessment is completed.

Security checks have also been strengthened at major religious sites, transport hubs and government buildings. Visitors may encounter tighter screening, increased police presence and additional surveillance around entry gates, parking areas and other high-footfall locations.

Cyber Investigation Underway to Trace the Threat Email

A detailed cyber investigation has been initiated to identify the sender of the email. Investigators are examining technical evidence such as server details, metadata, routing information and other digital footprints to determine whether the message originated from an organised network, an individual or a fake account.

Officials have deliberately withheld the complete contents of the email to avoid unnecessary public panic while the investigation remains underway. Authorities say the immediate priority is to verify the authenticity of the threat and ensure adequate security at all vulnerable locations.

The security alert comes days after tensions surrounding the Nagrasu Gurdwara in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district.

The standoff began after a group of Nihangs demanded the release of four individuals arrested following a clash in Karnaprayag market on June 16. The situation continued for nearly three days before ending peacefully on June 23 after discussions involving a Sikh delegation.

Officials also referred to another incident on the night of June 25, when a group of Nihang Sikhs allegedly entered Uttarakhand through the Kulhal border in Dehradun district while raising similar demands. Police later persuaded the group to return to Paonta Sahib without further escalation.

At present, authorities have not established any direct connection between these incidents and the latest threat email. Investigators are examining all possible angles before drawing any conclusions.

Security agencies have stressed that heightened vigilance does not necessarily indicate an imminent attack. Instead, the measures are part of standard preventive procedures followed whenever a threat input is received.

Officials have appealed to the public not to circulate unverified messages on social media or messaging platforms. Citizens are advised to cooperate with security checks and immediately inform local police if they notice any unattended baggage, suspicious activity or threatening communication.
