HIMUDA start-up funding offers up to Rs 5 lakh per proposal under Himachal policy
The Himachal Pradesh government will provide funding of up to Rs 5 lakh per proposal for young entrepreneurs under the HIMUDA Start-up and Student Innovation Policy. Town and Country Planning Minister Rajesh Dharmani said the policy aims to strengthen the start-up ecosystem, including possible support for disaster management ideas, while supporting jobs and growth.
The Himachal Pradesh government said it will fund young entrepreneurs with up to Rs 5 lakh per proposal. The support will come under the HIMUDA Start-up and Student Innovation Policy. Town & Country Planning Minister Rajesh Dharmani shared the plan during a HIMUDA review meeting held on Saturday. Officials said the move targets jobs and wider economic activity.

Rajesh Dharmani said the policy is meant to create a stronger base for innovation and start-ups. Rajesh Dharmani added that Himachal Pradesh’s terrain also shaped the funding focus. Rajesh Dharmani said the government is looking at support for disaster management start-ups. Rajesh Dharmani linked this to local risks and emergency response needs.
HIMUDA Start-up and Student Innovation Policy funding and innovation goals
In the same meeting, Rajesh Dharmani said HIMUDA projects serve more than housing demand. Rajesh Dharmani said the projects are also planned to add new revenue streams. Rajesh Dharmani described urban development as a key part of the state’s growth strategy. Rajesh Dharmani connected this to fast urbanisation and rising service needs.
HIMUDA Start-up and Student Innovation Policy linked to planned urban projects
Rajesh Dharmani said the state is working on large planned development projects. Rajesh Dharmani named Him Chandigarh, Him Panchkula and Kangra Valley Aero City. Rajesh Dharmani said the aim is more structured urban growth across Himachal Pradesh. Rajesh Dharmani said these plans are intended to ease pressure caused by urban expansion.
Rajesh Dharmani said land for the Him Chandigarh project is being acquired in two ways. Rajesh Dharmani said the options include mutual agreement and land pooling. Rajesh Dharmani also said an environmental view is being kept in mind. Rajesh Dharmani said a Sirsa River riverfront development project is being prepared.
HIMUDA Start-up and Student Innovation Policy and HIMUDA digital platform plan
Rajesh Dharmani stressed the role of information technology in HIMUDA services. Rajesh Dharmani said an integrated digital platform will be introduced under HIMUDA’s e-initiative model. Rajesh Dharmani said the system will offer online tools for stakeholders. Rajesh Dharmani listed services like allotment, e-drawing and e-auction.
Rajesh Dharmani said the combined approach targets both enterprise and better city planning. Rajesh Dharmani said start-up funding is meant to support new ideas and jobs. Rajesh Dharmani said urban projects are intended to deliver organised growth and fresh revenue. Rajesh Dharmani said the digital platform will support easier public access to key services.
