Hindustan Zinc AI-driven solutions target Rs 2,000 crore value across mining and manufacturing

Hindustan Zinc Ltd will deploy AI-driven solutions across mining and manufacturing, aiming to generate Rs 2,000 crore in value. Announced at Zinnovation 2026 with V-Spark DeepTech Ventures, the plan reflects wider metals and mining moves towards digital transformation to manage costs, protect margins, and meet stricter ESG expectations.

Hindustan Zinc Ltd (HZL) said it planned to create Rs 2,000 crore in value. The company aimed to do this by using artificial intelligence solutions. These tools would be used across mining and manufacturing work. The plan was shared on Friday as firms in metals and mining increased digital adoption.

Hindustan Zinc targets Rs 2,000 crore

The shift came as companies faced higher input costs and tighter profit margins. Many firms also responded to stronger environmental, social and governance expectations. HZL said digital systems could support efficiency and better controls. The company linked its AI push to wider trends in automation and industrial intelligence.

Hindustan Zinc AI plans announced at Zinnovation 2026

HZL shared the target at Zinnovation 2026, a technology showcase for industry. The event was organised with V-Spark DeepTech Ventures. HZL described V-Spark as a global corporate innovation, accelerator and ventures platform. HZL said such platforms supported smart manufacturing across heavy industry and metals and mining.

"The future of manufacturing will be defined by our ability to scale with intelligence. At Hindustan Zinc, we are embedding technology directly into the core of our operations to prove that an industry traditionally defined by grit can be led by data. Zinnovation brings together global capability, entrepreneurial innovation and a scale that can deliver real impact on the ground,\" HZL Chairperson Priya Agarwal Hebbar said.

Hindustan Zinc AI work with startups through V-Spark DeepTech Ventures

HZL said it was working with over 50 deep tech startups. The partnerships covered more than 100 projects through V-Spark DeepTech Ventures. HZL said the work focused on production improvement and cost optimisation. It also included value creation, ESG leadership, asset performance, safety and operating efficiency.

HZL said its AI-led approach fit with a wider move towards smarter factories. The company is part of the Vedanta group. Hindustan Zinc Ltd is the worlds largest integrated zinc producer. It is also amongst the top 10 silver producers globally.
