Holi 2025: Delhi Metro Revises Train Timings, Services To Remain Suspended For Few Hours | Check Details

Holi 2025: Delhi Metro rail services will remain suspended for a few hours on the occasion of Holi on Friday, March 14. Services will not be available for commuters on all lines of the Delhi Metro, including the Airport Express line, said DMRC in an update on Wednesday.
Apart from the Delhi Metro rail services suspension, there will be road closures, route diversions, and other restrictions by Delhi traffic police on Holi today. People are advised to stay updated about the Delhi traffic alert before leaving their homes for Holi celebrations.

Delhi Metro timings on Holi

On the occasion of Holi on Friday, March 14, Delhi metro services will remain suspended on all lines, including the Airport Express. People would be able to commute via the Delhi metro after 2:30 pm till 11:30 PM.

The Delhi Metro rail services operate from 5:00 am to 11:30 pm on general days, whereas, it will operate as usual from 2:30 pm to 11:30 pm today because of Holi festival.
Delhi Metro network spans across 395 kilometers with 289 stations and serves a major lifeline of Delhi-NCR residents.

Delhi Metro delay on Red Line

Earlier on Thursday, several Delhi Metro passengers experienced inconvenience due to a delay in services on the Red Line from Shahdara to Seelampur.
Addressing the issue, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) notified that services on the Red Line were impacted due to an incident of cable theft.
"Services are impacted on the Red Line since the morning due to another incident of cable theft. The inconvenience caused to the passengers due to such incidents of cable thefts is deeply regretted. DMRC is in touch with the law and order machinery to resolve such recurring issues. Attempts shall be made to repair the impacted section during the non-peak hours. However, in case that doesn't materialise, the restoration work shall be taken up after the conclusion of passenger services tonight," read an update by DMRC on X on Thursday.
Normal services resumed on Red Line after 12:30 pm, notified DMRC was notified in another update.

Major update on Delhi Metro's Golden Line project

In a major update of Delhi Metro expansion, the tunneling work for Phase 4 of the Golden Line project between Kishangarh and Vasant Kunj stations - part of the Tughlakabad-Aerocity corridor has been completed.
Two parallel tunnels are being constructed for the up and down movement of trains on this stretch. The construction of the second tunnel will be completed by June, as per the DMRC statement.
The Golden Line is the 10th line of the Delhi Metro's extensive network. Despite being approved by the Delhi Government nearly 6 years ago, the project was delayed multiple times. Currently, there are 15 proposed stations on the Delhi Metro Golden Line, which spans around 23.62 km. The Delhi Metro line is likely to be completed by March 2026.
