Hosur Road in Bengaluru Reopens After Temporary Closure Post Heavy Rainfall; Check Other Waterlogged Routes

Pre-monsoon rainfall in Bengaluru is intensifying, and the city's fragile infrastructure is once again under strain. Bengaluru has been struggling with heavy rainfall and severe waterlogging in several parts of the city since last night. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bengaluru received 37 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours, which is causing massive traffic disruptions and temporary road closures.

The overnight torrential rain in Bengaluru has triggered widespread waterlogging, especially in major residential and commercial zones, making life difficult for daily commuters. Areas around Hosur Road, Electronic City, and Tin Factory have reported massive traffic issues due to flooding and poor road conditions.

Hosur Road Temporarily Closed, Now Reopened

Early in the morning, Bengaluru traffic police announced traffic advisories regarding the temporary closure of Hosur Road between Silk Board Junction and Rupena Agrahara due to flooding. The road has now been reopened for vehicular movement, but authorities urge commuters to remain cautious.

The Silk Board to Rupena Agrahara stretch, a major link for thousands of IT professionals commuting to Electronic City, had become unmotorable in the early morning hours. However, after dewatering efforts, traffic flow resumed.

Traffic Slowdowns Across Key Routes

Multiple roads across Bengaluru are witnessing slow-moving traffic due to major issues caused by heavy rainfall in Bengaluru, which led to vehicle breakdowns, waterlogging, and poor road infrastructure. The following areas are most affected:

Electronic City Flyover (Upper Ramp towards NICE Road): A vehicle breakdown is causing severe traffic delays.

Road damage near Pai Layout to Tin Factory: Road damage has led to reduced vehicle speeds and congestion.

Persistent waterlogging has slowed down traffic movement near RMS 2nd Stage to Fabelle Apartment

Bad road conditions are affecting commuter movement around the Ayyappa Underpass to S P Junction. Similarly, near Subbanna Junction to Race Course, abundant water accumulation has resulted in traffic bottlenecks.

Authorities have recommended using New BEL Road and other alternate routes to bypass the most heavily impacted zones.
