Despite its strong opening, Housefull 5 is not without competition. In southern India, Kamal Haasan's Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam, has been performing well, especially in Tamil markets. The film grossed approximately Rs 23 crore in its first two days, but Housefull 5 managed to outpace it in the Hindi-speaking regions.
