New Delhi, Apr 3 - The gaming PC market in India has witnessed a significant surge, with HP Inc's sales more than doubling over the past two years. By the end of March 31, 2023, the company reported sales of 2.85 lakh gaming PCs, despite a nearly flat business performance in the fiscal year 2022-23. This growth marks a substantial increase from the 1.31 lakh units sold in FY21 to 2.82 lakh in FY22. While HP India has not disclosed specific figures for the current fiscal year, it acknowledges continued growth in gaming PC sales.

Vineet Gehani, Senior Director of Consumer Sales at HP India, highlighted the increasing significance of gaming within HP's overall portfolio. According to Gehani, the company has not only maintained a leading position in the overall market but has also seen rapid growth within the gaming sub-segment in recent quarters. This statement was made during the launch event of the HP Omen Transcend 14 series, which is designed for gaming and content creation.
The newly introduced PC series features NVIDIA GPU graphics processing units, Intel Core Ultra processors, and a Neural Processing Unit (NPU), with prices starting at Rs 1,74,999 per unit. Gehani emphasized the growing contribution of gaming to the PC industry's overall adoption rates. He noted an accelerated transition of gamers from smaller formats like mobile phones and consoles to PCs.
Gehani further remarked on the evolution of gaming into a full-time profession, which he believes is driving faster adoption and necessitating the introduction of better devices annually. This trend underscores the dynamic nature of the gaming industry and HP's commitment to catering to its evolving demands.
