HUL Q1FY27 Results: Net Profit Slips 3% Despite Double-Digit Revenue Growth; Shares Drop More Than 4%

FMCG giant Hindustan Unilever Ltd announced its first quarter earnings report, in which the company posted a 3% decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 2,631 crore as compared to net profit of Rs 2,732 crore in the year-ago period, as per the exchange filing.

On a QoQ basis, HUL's net profit declined 10.7% from Rs. 2,992 crore in Q4FY26.

The company's Revenue for Q1FY27 rose 10.3% YoY to Rs. 17,149 crore as compared to Rs. 15,552 crore in the same quarter last year and jumped 6% QoQ from Rs. 6,172 crore in Q4FY26

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation aka EBITDA for the quarter jumped moderately by 8% YoY and was reported at Rs. 3,947 crore.

Meanwhile, the EBITDA margin dropped about 23%, around 40 bps YoY.

HUL Segment-Wise Performance Q1 FY27

HUL Consolidated segment results for this quarter ended June 30 recorded positive growth as the revenue from continuing operations spiked by 10% to reach Rs. 17,341 crore, up from Rs. 15,757 crore in the same quarter last year.

Home Care was the largest segment, recording a revenue of Rs. 6,554 crore, followed by beauty & Wellbeing at Rs. 4,083 crore, Foods at Rs. 3,480 crore, and Personal Care at Rs. 2,624 crore, with all four segments showing growth over the year-ago quarter.

Total segment results, which is essentially operating profit from continuing operations, came in at Rs .3,594 crore, up from Rs. 3,314 crore, while profit before tax from continuing operations rose to Rs. 3,632 crore from Rs. 3,267 crore, an increase of about 11%.

It should also be noted that this quarter had no revenue or profit from discontinued operations, as was the case in the same quarter last year, which had Rs. 757 crore in revenue and Rs. 36 crore in profit before tax from a discontinued segment.

Post the announcement of the results this morning, selling pressure was seen in the stock as HUL shares fell sharply by more than 4% due to disappointing results.

At around 11:14 am, HUL Shares were trading at Rs. 2,077 a piece on the NSE down by 4.47% or 97 points. So far in 2026 the stock has fallen more than 10% and around 15% in the last 12 months
