IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2021 was released on September 30, 2021. The report puts focus on India having 1007 individuals with net worth of Rs. 1000 crore across as many as 119 cities. Notable wealth creators in the last one year include Gautam Adani and family, Byju Ravindram- edtech startup founder who has become richer than ace investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala.
This edition is the 10th annual ranking of the richest individuals in India. Wealth calculations are a snapshot as of 15th September 2021. As per the report, cumulative wealth has recorded a surge of 51 percent, while average wealth increased by 25%. In total India has 237 billionaires, up 58 in comparison to the last year. Sectorally, chemicals and software space led to the highest addition of new entrants to the billionaires list. Nonetheless, pharma sector retained the top spot and added 130 new entrants to the list.

The IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2021 includes four new individuals, despite the cut-off being up by 60%. Still some of the individuals in the list continue to retain the Top 10 spot even after ten years, led by Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani, followed by LN Mittal, Dilip Shanghvi, Kumara Mangalam Birla and Shiv Nadar.
