Exam Dates And Other Details
As per the revised schedule, Group I examinations for the May 2026 session were held on May 5, 7 and 9. Group II examinations took place on May 11, 13 and 15. All papers were conducted from 2 pm to 5 pm. The examination pattern included 30 marks for multiple-choice questions and 70 marks for descriptive-type questions.
ICAI Result January 2026 Pass Percentage
The January 2026 CA Intermediate session offers useful context for candidates awaiting the May outcome. In that session, Group I examinations were conducted on January 6, 8 and 10, while Group II papers were held on January 12, 15 and 17. The results were announced on March 8, around two months after the examinations.
The January attempt recorded modest pass percentages across categories. In Group I, 14,733 candidates qualified out of 1,05,526 who appeared, resulting in a pass percentage of 13.96 per cent. In Group II, 10,798 candidates cleared the examination out of 69,477, taking the pass percentage to 15.54 per cent.
Among candidates who appeared for both groups in January 2026, 3,924 out of 41,798 were successful. This translated to an overall pass percentage of 9.39 per cent. The figures underline the demanding nature of the examination and the importance of strong preparation across both objective and descriptive components.
