With the countdown underway for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026, the International Cricket Council has raised the stakes by announcing its biggest-ever prize money package for the women's event. Scheduled to be held in England and Wales with 12 teams competing for the first time, the tournament is being positioned as a landmark moment for the women's game, both in terms of scale and financial rewards.

Winners: US$2,340,000 (approx. Rs 19.42 crore)
Runners-up: US$1,170,000 (approx. Rs 9.71 crore)
Losing semi-finalists: US$675,000 each (approx. Rs 5.60 crore each)
Group stage win bonus: US$31,154 per win (approx. Rs 25.86 lakh per win)
Minimum guaranteed prize for all teams: US$247,500 (approx. Rs 2.05 crore)

This structure ensures that every participating nation receives a substantial financial reward, even if they do not progress beyond the group stage.

ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta said the rise of women's cricket continues to accelerate, and the expanded format along with increased prize money reflects the governing body's long-term commitment to the women's game.

He emphasised that the tournament is expected to break new records in attendance and viewership while also creating a wider social and cultural impact across global sport.

ICC T20 World Cup 2026 Trophy Tour Begins; Where Cricket Fans Can See It

Alongside the prize money announcement, the ICC Trophy Tour in partnership with DP World also kicked off. The tour will build excitement ahead of the tournament, beginning in London and showcasing the trophy at iconic venues.

The tour will then travel across several European nations, including:

Netherlands
Ireland
Scotland

It will later move through host cities in England in the lead-up to the opening match on June 12.

Fans will get multiple opportunities to engage with the trophy at major public locations such as Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Southampton, and London, including popular landmarks like Millennium Square, Bullring, Cabot Circus, Guildhall Square, and Trafalgar Square.
