ICICI Bank Introduces ‘iBox' For Self-Service Delivery

Such customers who have their residence or office premises near bank branch may receive their debit, credit card or cheque book as well as returned cheques anytime during the day from iBox. This OTP backed authentication can be used on all working days round the clock.

The iBox is installed just outside the bank branches that provide accessibility beyond working hours. Currently the facility is deployed in more than 50 branches in 17 cities. In it the deliverables are placed for at least seven days and customers as per their convenience can pick them up. Also, as part of enhanced security, the facility features live tracking of the status of the dispatched deliverable.

So, once the package bearing the deliverable reaches a particular iBox, the entitled beneficiary is informed by an SMS that also carries its GPS location together with an OTP and a QR code.

And thereafter the intended recipient needs to visit the facility for self service delivery and the deliverable are accessible only after the recipient enters the OTP or scans the QR code.
