At the Indian Institute of Management-Nagpur's (IIM-N) recent convocation, 46% of the 267 MBA graduates from the 2023-25 batch were women. This marks a 3% increase from the previous batch, where women made up nearly 43% of the graduates. The institute achieved full placement for this cohort, with companies like Microsoft and Amazon participating in recruitment.

Among the graduates, three students received record-breaking offers, while four secured international positions. The highest salary offer reached Rs 69.57 lakh per annum for final placements, and Rs 2.70 lakh for summer internships. On average, packages were Rs 18.07 lakh per annum and Rs 89,856 respectively.
Gender Balance and Placement Success
IIM-N Director Bhimaraya Metri noted that out of the 267 regular MBA graduates, 120 were women and 147 were men. This gender distribution reflects the institute's commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. Metri highlighted these efforts during the 9th convocation ceremony held on campus.
In total, 329 MBA students completed their programs this year. This includes 267 in the regular MBA course, 35 in the Executive MBA program at Pune Campus, and 27 in the Executive MBA program at Nagpur Campus. The institute's Career Development Services team and Student Placement Committee played key roles in achieving full placements.
Industry Engagement and Future Plans
This year saw an influx of new recruiters, with 89 joining for final placements and 98 for summer internships. This growth underscores industry trust in IIM Nagpur as a hub of opportunity. Top firms like Adani, BNP Paribas, Vedanta, Aditya Birla Capital, Lupin, Tata Power, Axis Bank, Accenture, BNY Mellon, Cognizant, and Deloitte recruited students.
CP Gurnani, Chairman of IIM Nagpur's Board of Governors, spoke about the institute's decade-long journey of growth and innovation as it celebrates its 10th anniversary. He announced plans for significant infrastructure expansion to meet growing academic needs.
Collaborations and Inspirational Messages
IIM Nagpur is set to collaborate with the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) soon. Puneet Chhatwal, MD and CEO of IHCL and chief guest at the convocation, inspired students to lead with purpose. "If you follow purpose, success is just a consequence," he said.
Chhatwal encouraged graduates to set new benchmarks and cultivate a growth mindset for future success. "Practising without vision or purpose is not sustainable," he added. In total, 62 students received Executive MBA certificates during the ceremony.
