IMD Issues 4-Day Rain Alert For Karnataka Weather in THESE Districts: Check Bengaluru Weather Update

Residents in some parts of Karnataka are in for a treat as the IMD has predicted rainy weather conditions in some areas. Karnataka weather is quite variable across the state, with Bengaluru experiencing hot and sunny conditions, while the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for thunderstorms, rain, and strong winds in multiple districts.

Karnataka Weather Update Today, April 22

On Wednesday, Karnataka weather today stayed hot and mostly dry across the state, with temperatures touching 37°C in several regions. However, this heat is expected to be followed by weather activity in the form of thunderstorms and rain, especially in interior and coastal areas.

IMD Weather Alert: Thunderstorms, Rain & Gusty Winds Expected

According to the India Meteorological Department and Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre, "Thunderstorms with gusty winds (40-50 kmph) likely over North Interior Karnataka on April 22 & 23, 2026, Winds of 30-40 kmph expected across Interior Karnataka from April 22 to April 26. Coastal Karnataka is likely to witness thunderstorms with lightning from April 22 to April 26."

The IMD has also warned that heavy rain, thunder, and lightning may impact several districts, with wind speeds reaching up to 50 kmph.

Karnataka Weather Warning: District-wise Alerts

The IMD has issued Orange Alert in Bidar, Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Belagavi & Dharwad, which may face heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds.

Yellow Alert has been issued for Raichur, Yadgir, Koppal, Gadag, Vijayanagara, Haveri, Uttara Kannada, Shivamogga, Davanagere, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Kodagu. These districts can expect moderate rain, lightning, and gusty winds in these regions.

While Normal Conditions are expected to prevail in Bengaluru Urban & Rural, Tumakuru, Kolar, Chikkaballapura, Ramanagara, Mandya, Mysuru, Chamarajanagara, and Chitradurga.

Bengaluru Weather Today: No Rain, Temperature Near 35°C

As per the latest Bangalore rain update, the city remains warm and dry, with temperatures hovering around 33-35°C. The IMD snapshot shows Bengaluru at approximately 33.2°C with calm winds, while other forecasts indicate highs of 36-37°C.

There is no immediate rainfall expected in Bengaluru, and the overall weather remains clear and sunny, adding to the summer heat across the city.
