The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread rainfall across many parts of India until July 19, with heavy to very heavy showers expected in several regions.
The IMD has issued a red alert for Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, and an orange alert for Gujarat and Odisha, Due to the possibility of intense rainfall.
According to the IMD, west Madhya Pradesh may see extremely heavy rainfall on July 13, while east Rajasthan is expected to get heavy rain from July 13 to 15, and west Rajasthan on July 14 and 15. Eastern parts of India are also likely to receive heavy to very heavy rain over the next 2-3 days.
A yellow alert has also been issued for parts of the Northeast (Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura), Konkan & Goa, Kerala, and Coastal Karnataka for the next few days.

Weekly Forecast Across India:
South India:
Southern states including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka will see heavy to very showers between July 13 to July 19. The IMD has advised fishermen to avoid the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal till July 16 due to rough weather conditions.
Northwest India:
Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir are also expected to see significant rainfall between July 13 to July 17. While Uttarakhand will have heavy rainfall from July 13 to July 19. The IMD also mentioned that cyclonic circulation over north India is contributing to the intense rainfall and is moving towards the northeast Bay of Bengal.
East & Central India:
States like Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, and West Bengal will likely receive heavy rain. Konkan & Goa, Saurashtra, and Central Maharashtra are also expected to see heavy rainfall between July 13 and 15.
Regions near the Ganga in West Bengal, along with parts of Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Madhya Pradesh, are likely to experience rain with lightning and thunderstorms. Winds may reach speeds of 30-40 kmph.
Northeast India:
Northeast India will experience light to moderate rain with thunderstorms over the next week, Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh during 13th-19th July with very heavy rainfall over Meghalaya on 15th July.
Delhi-NCR and parts of Mumbai, Pune, and other cities are already facing severe waterlogging and traffic disruption due to continuous rain. Meanwhile, humid weather is expected in parts of Tamil Nadu and Coastal Andhra Pradesh, with humidity levels likely to stay between 70-85%.
Rainfall in Past 24 Hours:
East Madhya Pradesh has received very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall, with some areas getting 21 cm or more. Uttar Pradesh and parts of Gujarat also saw heavy to very heavy rainfall, with amounts between 7 to 20 cm in some places. Odisha, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra & Kutch, and Coastal Karnataka recorded heavy rainfall ranging from 7 to 11 cm at a few locations.
The IMD has urged people to stay alert, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rains, and follow local advisories, especially in areas under red and orange alerts.
