Important Income Tax Deadlines For 2020

In an email to taxpayers, the income tax department sent out a calendar for 2020 to taxpayers with a list of all important tax-related deadlines. The "file-it-yourself" e-calendar will help taxpayers file their income tax returns easily as it maps out one's ITR (income tax returns) journey.

The income tax department in its e-calendar also informed taxpayers of various services that it offers.

7 January 2020
The due date for deposit of Tax deducted/collected for the month of December 2019.

14 January 2020
The due date for issue of TDS Certificate for tax deducted under section 194-IA, section 194-IB and section 194M in the month of November 2019.

15 March 2020
The due date for payment of the fourth and last instalment of advance tax for the year 2020-21.

31 March 2020
The last date to file a belated or revised return of income for the assessment year 2019-20 where assessment is not completed.

15 May 2020
The last date to submit the TCS statement for the fourth quarter of 2019-20.

31 May 2020
Deadline for quarterly statement of TDS deposited for the previous quarter.

15 June 2020
Deadline to pay the first instalment of advance tax for the financial year 2020-21.

31 July 2020
Last date for filing of ITR for individual taxpayers who do not require to get their records audited.

15 September 2020
Last reminder for paying of second instalment of advance tax.

30 September 2020
Last date for filing of ITR for corporate taxpayers and all those whose accounts are liable to be audited.

15 December 2020
Last date for paying the third instalment of advance tax for the financial year 2020-21.
