Indepence Day Celebration 2025: As the whole nation is preparing for the Independence Day 2025 celebration, millions of Indians are preparing to join the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign on Friday, 15 August.
The Central Government has urged every citizen to participate in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign during Independence Day celebrations. According to the Ministry of Culture, every household will hoist the Tricolour. 15 August will mark the last day of the campaign which began from August 2 this year, according to the Ministry of Culture.

Major Do's And Don'ts During Flag Hoisting
For those who are planning to hoist the Indian Flag on 15 August, here are the mandatory do's and don't to keep in mind.
Mandatory Dos
-The flag should always be hoisted briskly and lowered slowly with dignity.
-The Indian flag's display should be always correct. The display of the flag should be in a positioof prominence, and it should be kept in mind that the flag should not be overshadowed by other flags or objects.
-The saffron band should be at the top, when displayed horizontally.
-The flag should always be clean, undamaged, and free from discolouration.
-As per the Flag Code, the Indian flag could be made of multiple materials, like silk, hand-spun, hand-woven, or machine made cotton, polyester, wool, or silk khadi bunting.
-The flag can now be hoisted and flown by individuals as well as private organisations, as per the amendment by Flag Code of 2002. It can be flown on all days including Sundays as well as holidays.
-The flag's proportion should always be 3:2, regardless of size.
-The Indian flag can be flown at night only if it is well-lit and prominently displayed.
-Flag can be used to cover a statue during the inauguration or other ceremonies, but it should not touch the ground or floor.
-A damaged or soiled flag should be disposed of privately by burning or in a manner which is consistent with its dignity.
Mandatory Don'ts
-The flag must not touch the ground, water, or floor at the time of hoisting or afterwards.
-It must not be used in a manner that insults its dignity.
-It should not be used for commercial purposes, on customers, clothes, cushions, napkins and other items.
-The Indian flag should not be used for covering a building, or a vehicle, or platform. It should not also be used for a draping anything. However, state and military funerals are exception.
-The flag must not be flown below or alongside anotehr flag, in a way that diminishes its prominence.
-It is not allowed to print or write anything on Indian Flag.
-Individuals are not allowed to use Indian flags design or logo on costumes, clothes, and apparels.
-It is not allowed to intentionally burn, tear, or damage the Indian flag. Doing so may lead to penalty under the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971.
-The flag should not be stored in a way that could damage it.
