India-China economic cooperation talks in Shanghai focus on trade, investment, and technology
Indian and Chinese industry representatives met in Shanghai to discuss stronger India-China economic cooperation, focusing on trade, investment, and technology collaboration. Hosted by the Consulate General of India in Shanghai, the session included a FICCI delegation led by Anant Goenka. Consul General Pratik Mathur outlined policy priorities and opportunities for partnership.
Indian and Chinese business leaders met in Shanghai on Friday to discuss closer economic ties. The talks focused on trade, investment, and technology cooperation. The Consulate General of India in Shanghai hosted the interaction. A Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry FICCI delegation joined the meeting. Chinese industry representatives also attended the session.

The Indian delegation was led by FICCI president Anant Goenka. Consul General Pratik Mathur addressed the gathering. Mathur spoke about India’s economic change under the government’s Viksit Bharat and Atmanirbhar Bharat vision. Mathur also described how Indian industry could work with overseas partners on shared growth plans.

Mathur said India’s policies support stronger supply chains and easier business processes. Mathur also cited digital public infrastructure as a major area of progress. Mathur added that India is working to improve manufacturing competitiveness. Mathur pointed to initiatives such as Production Linked Incentive PLI schemes as a driver for global partnerships.
India China trade investment and technology cooperation focus
Mathur said Eastern China has advanced manufacturing and innovation strengths. Mathur described the region as a possible partner for India. Mathur said both sides could co-develop industrial ecosystems. Mathur also referred to scaling investments and expanding technology collaboration between companies in both economies.
India China industry linkages for manufacturing and green technology
Mathur outlined India’s sector strengths and noted FICCI’s bridging role. Mathur flagged openings in advanced manufacturing and green technologies. Mathur also mentioned the digital economy, healthcare, and infrastructure. Mathur called for institutionalised industry links and steady B2B engagement with regional enterprises.
The interaction enabled detailed talks on raising trade and investment flows. It also covered steps to strengthen technology cooperation between India and China. The release said participants showed strong interest in practical partnerships. It added that many firms wanted links aligned with India’s growth path and global economic integration.
