India Energy Week 2026 began in Goa with the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, delivering the keynote address at the inaugural ceremony. At the event, India hosted more than 75,000 energy professionals from over 120 countries, underlining the country's growing influence in global energy discussions and policy debates.
Now in its fourth year as an annual gathering, India Energy Week 2026 has expanded in scale, featuring 700 exhibiting companies, 10 dedicated country pavilions, and 11 thematic zones, while more than 550 global speakers are scheduled to share insights across over 110 strategic and technical sessions during the event.

"Over the past decade, renewables have grown rapidly. Their share in global electricity generation has increased from around one-fifth to nearly one-third, supported by falling costs and policy momentum. Yet conventional energy continues to play a critical role. If investment in existing oil and gas production were to stop today, global oil output would decline by around 8 percent annually over the next decade, equivalent to losing more than the combined annual production of Brazil and Norway each year," said Hardeep Singh Puri on Tuesday.
