Unclaimed financial assets portal launched to help Indians trace deposits, insurance, shares

India’s finance ministry has launched a unified online portal to help citizens search and trace unclaimed bank deposits, insurance claims, shares, dividends and mutual funds. Developed with PSB Alliance, the platform aims to improve access to information, build trust, and support financial inclusion under the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.

The finance ministry on Friday introduced a single online portal to help people find unclaimed financial assets. Users can search across unclaimed bank deposits, insurance claims, shares, dividends and mutual funds. The platform aims to make searches simpler across the wider financial system. The finance ministry said the move can also improve trust and access for citizens.

Portal to trace unclaimed assets

The portal is available at https://www.unclaimedassetsportal.in and acts as a common entry point. It brings together different search facilities on one website for easier access. The finance ministry said the initiative should raise public awareness and support financial inclusion. The ministry added it aligns with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 through stronger financial empowerment.

Unclaimed assets portal aims to simplify searches

According to the finance ministry, the portal was launched with PSB Alliance. The ministry said this partnership supports easier access to information about unclaimed financial assets. The unified site is designed to cover the financial ecosystem and guide users to relevant search options. It is intended to reduce confusion for people checking multiple sources.

Department of Financial Services Secretary M Nagaraju launched the unified platform during a review meeting of public sector banks. The finance ministry said the portal brings several search tools together in one place. The ministry added that it is meant to improve citizen convenience and help people reconnect with rightful assets. It also seeks to strengthen ongoing recovery efforts.

Your Money, Your Right campaign linked to unclaimed assets portal

The finance ministry said the new portal builds on the nationwide campaign Your Money, Your Right. The Department of Financial Services ran this drive with financial sector regulators, banks and other stakeholders. The aim was to improve awareness, help with tracing, and support restitution of unclaimed financial assets. The ministry said the portal continues the same effort.

The finance ministry described the Common Landing Portal as a step towards a clearer system. It said the approach supports a more accessible, transparent and citizen-centric financial ecosystem. The ministry expects better access to information to improve participation in formal finance. It also said the effort can deepen trust while keeping the process simpler for citizens.
