Boosting Export Services

India Post Dak Ghar Niryat Kendras expansion

Manju Kumari informed reporters that till now, 700 Dak Ghar Niryat Kendras have been established nationwide with 30 centers in Delhi circle alone. She expressed optimism about achieving the set target of setting up a total of 1,000 such kendras by end-2023. "In just three months since opening these centres in Delhi circle, we have already seen over 140 customers availing our services and expect this number to grow further," she said.

Digital Transformation

In an effort towards digital transformation and ease-of-doing-business for exporters, these kendras are collaborating with customs department for online completion of export documentation. Customers can register themselves at any Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra and complete all necessary paperwork required for exporting goods while booking their parcels.

"Customers don't need to come physically to our centres for parcel bookings anymore; everything is being made available online", Manju Kumari added while speaking on the sidelines of World Postal Day celebrations held recently.

A Step Towards Improved Service Delivery

This move signifies a significant step towards improving service delivery within postal services especially catering to exporters who often grapple with cumbersome procedures and paperwork. By making it possible for customers to complete export-related formalities digitally at these kendras or even remotely through online channels - right from registration process up until parcel booking - it will not only save time but also streamline the overall process for customers.

The Department of Posts' commitment to expanding and improving its services is clear with the planned increase in Dak Ghar Niryat Kendras. This will not only help in facilitating exports but also contribute towards India's aim of becoming a global trading hub.

Conclusion

In conclusion, this initiative by the Department of Posts is a commendable step towards enhancing ease-of-doing-business for exporters across India. The plan to expand Dak Ghar Niryat Kendras network coupled with digital transformation efforts demonstrates their commitment to service excellence and customer convenience. It will certainly go a long way in boosting India's export sector and strengthening its position as an international trade player.
