India To Operate 64 Flights To Bring Back Stranded Citizens In Overseas

In the days to come to bring back its citizens from 13 nations amid the coronavirus crisis India will fly as many as 64 flights over the week's time starting May 7.

Further as per the leading business channel's review of the government plan, the government shall operate 15 flights to Kerala from overseas, 7 to Delhi, 11 to Tamil Nadu, 5 to Gujarat, 7 to Telangana, 3 each to J&K and Karnataka and each to UP and Punjab.

These flights will bring back people from the US, Bahrain, Singapore, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, the UK and Philippines

On May 7, India will fly10 flights and bring back as many as 2300 citizens from UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UK, Singapore, Malaysia, the US, Philippines and Bangladesh. Then in the second round a total of 2050 stranded Indian natives will be brought back to the country from Bahrain, UAE, Malaysia, the US, Kuwait, Singapore, and the UK.

Further on third day, 2050 citizens shall come back, 1850 citizens on day four, 2200 on day five, 2500 on day six and 1850 on the seventh day.

And before the boarding process, all these passengers will be medically examined and only those found asymptomatic will be allowed to come back. And on return they would need to adhere to the government's guidelines and download Arogya Setu app.

Then post their arrival they would need to be in quarantine for 14 days and thereafter a Covid 19 test would be done."State Governments are being advised to make arrangements, including for testing, quarantine and onward movement of the returning Indians in their respective States," the Indian government said in a statement today.
