Indian Markets Closed, Asian Stocks Rally On Record US Market Gains
Equity, commodity and forex markets are shut today on account of Good Friday. In the previous session, on the first trading day of new fiscal year 2022, markets ended 1% higher with Nifty notching levels of 14867. The broader markets however outperformed their headline peers with gains of over 1.7 percent.
Meanwhile, Asian indices amid thin trading with holidays across the region including Hong Kong, Australia and Singapore started the last trading day of the week on a positive note after US index S&P 500 climbed to a record high on optimism around economic recovery fuelled by the coronavirus stimulus. Japanese Nikkei at the time of writing this copy traded higher by 1.21 percent, South Korea's Kospi also traded with gains of 0.75%.
The US treasury rebounded again to below 1.7% levels. Also, there were seen losses in the greenback. In the oil market, oil prices gained after OPEC + exuded confidence on economic recovery and agreed on increasing supply gradually.
