Indian Markets Continue To Gain; ONGC Top Gainer
Indian markets on positive SGX Nifty opened positive. Sensex gained 0.14% or 60 points to 45462, while Nifty was up 0.93% or 123 points at 13381. Further optimism is being fuelled by Covid 19 vaccine. Broader markets are trading more stronger with gains of over 2% in the pre-opening.
Bank and financial stocks shall be in focus today as the SC is set to resume hearing on extension of loan moratorium.
Reliance Industries shares also spurted marginally to Rs. 1958 as the company took a overseas debt to pay off Reliance Holding's loans.
Jet Airways shares also surged 5% as the consortium of UAE based businessman Murari Lal Jalan and London's Kalrock Capital said it expects to operationalise the airline some in the summer of 2021.
Meanwhile, Asian indices were trading with pressure, with Nikkei down 0.27percent.
