Indian curriculum schools across Dubai and Sharjah have started the 2026-27 academic session in online mode, prompting institutions to adopt new ways to ensure students receive study materials on time. With distance learning continuing until April 17, many schools have introduced doorstep delivery of textbooks and stationery to help students begin classes without disruption.
Dubai & Sharjah Indian Schools Shift to Online Classes; Home Delivery of Books Begins
Dubai schools resumed virtual learning from April 6, while several Sharjah-based institutions had already started online sessions from March 30. School authorities say delivering books directly to homes has reduced the need for parents to visit campuses, helping avoid crowds and making the process more convenient.

Home Delivery of Textbooks in Dubai
Schools in Dubai are seeing a strong response from parents for home delivery services. Institutions like Delhi Private School (DPS) Dubai have already implemented full-scale delivery systems, ensuring that students receive their books well before classes begin as per Gulf news.
School officials noted that this method has eliminated long queues usually seen during book distribution days. Many parents have welcomed the convenience, with some schools even considering continuing this option in future academic years due to its efficiency and ease.
Sharjah Schools Use Buses and Local Networks for Book Distribution
In Sharjah, schools are adopting a slightly different strategy. Instead of relying only on courier services, some institutions are using their own school buses and transport staff to deliver books. Since these teams are already familiar with student addresses, the system is proving effective.
Additionally, schools are setting up limited collection points and allowing controlled on-campus pickups for parents who prefer that option. This hybrid approach ensures flexibility while maintaining safety guidelines.
To avoid any disruption in learning, schools are also providing digital resources alongside physical textbooks. In cases where printed books are delayed, students are given access to online materials, including chapter-wise content, presentations, and assessments.
Where & How To Get Books at Home in Dubai & Sharjah
Schools have also prepared contingency plans in case some books are delayed. Temporary digital copies are being shared with students so that learning continues smoothly.
Once physical books arrive, they are either distributed on campus or delivered directly to homes. This dual approach ensures that students are not left behind during the initial weeks of the academic session.
Many schools are using resources from the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and uploading them to internal learning platforms. This ensures that students can continue studying without waiting for physical books to arrive.
Some institutions, including The Indian Academy in Dubai, have introduced a fully digital system where parents can order textbooks and stationery online. The process is designed to be simple, allowing families to complete purchases and track deliveries without visiting the school.
This system follows guidelines issued by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), ensuring both safety and operational efficiency.
Dubai Schools Extend Book Delivery to Sharjah Students
Certain schools are going a step further by delivering books across emirates. For instance, Global Indian International School (GIIS) Dubai is sending study materials to students living in Sharjah as well.
School authorities say this effort is aimed at maintaining continuity in education and reducing stress for families. By ensuring timely delivery, schools are helping students settle into online classes without worrying about missing resources.
